HONG KONG， July 23 (Xinhua)-- In view of the latest situation in Germany， the government of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Saturday issued an Amber Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) on Germany.


At least nine people were killed by a gunman in shopping mall in Munich， Germany on Saturday. More than 20 were injured in the shooting.


A government spokesman said that residents who plan to visit Germany or are already there should monitor the situation， exercise caution， attend to personal safety， avoid travelling to places of large gatherings of people and pay attention to advice of the local authorities.


According to Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong， two package tours from Hong Kong are now in Munich and they are safe.


This is the second attack happened in Germany within a week. Four Hong Kong residents were injured on a train on Monday in southern Germany.


Under the three-color OTA system， black is the highest alert， red the middle and amber the lowest.

LONDON, July 25 (Xinhua) -- A sharp increase in the number of people shot by British police and killed in police traffic pursuits was reported Tuesday.


The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said in its annual report for 2017 that there were six fatal police shootings, higher than any year since the IPCC began collecting statistics in 2004.


One of those shot and killed was the Westminster terrorist Khalid Masood who murdered a police officer at the Houses of Parliament.

The IPPC's annual death statistics also show there were 28 deaths related to police pursuits of vehicles, more than in any year since 200506.


Also, 14 deaths in police custody were investigated, the second lowest figure recorded by the IPCC and fewer than half the number when the IPCC began in 2004.


Owers said the rise in pursuit-related deaths is noticeable. None were in response to emergencies Ryan Kelly Jersey , and two-thirds of the people who died were passengers, bystanders or other road users. All but two incidents involved cars.


"We will be working with the National Police Chiefs' Council to look at the causes and whether any changes to police pursuit safety or training are needed," she said.
